Way back when I came upon an old beaten up copy of Germaine Greer's book The Female Eunuch and found the book liberating. http://www.marxists.org/subject/women/authors/greer-germaine/female-eunuch.htm If you visit the link tht Greer wrote herself you will find a lot has changed since than but at the time her book was "seminal" or is there a better more feminine word than that? I don't recommend her newest work but at the time The Female Eunuch impacted me.
Women today are still taught to be anti-everything that makes us women.
Time to get a mirror and take a look in the mirror. There is a lot to love, "as you are" right now, from head to toe and especially the parts of you that define you as woman.
American women are taught to weigh themselves and the message is we don't measure up. We are never slim enough, pretty enough, and enough is enough. How can one embrace sexual empowerment if one is always weighing, judging and looking with a critical eye?
Another older woman with lots of knowledge that is considered the "Grandmother of Masturbation" or at least I have heard her called that, is Betty Dodson. http://dodsonandross.com/ . I like vintage Betty when she was on the edge. There is no doubt Dodson has sexually empowered women and she deserves a medal. Not as big a fan of her newest work but she was and is ground breaking especially in such a repressed and anti-women world we live.
Betty Dodson's vaginal barbell was cutting edge and still a head of it's time. I happen to speak to the owner of Jimmy Jane and asked him to make toys that help people, men and women to strengthen their kegels muscles. He said he would but I bet he says that to everyone. Betty was a head of her time and her vaginal barbell is still the simplest and effective way to strengthen your kegels which is important for your health and great for orgasm.
America is a modern country and women have a better life here than many countries that are nightmarish living hell, but truly we have a long way to go.
